In my job, since I work as a "social worker" and there is a migrant population, I often have to speak or know vocabulary that can help make myself understood.Generally, when they are legal procedures with long waiting times, even if I accompany them throughout the process.
In the end, many times, resorting to English/French is enough for me, but I always have people who don't speak either, and that's why I learn other languages.
Now for the question: When there is no equivalent in their language (or I don't have vocabulary to explain them, is it better to use the term you would use here or in English, or to give an approximate explanation? (Example:Temporary financial aid conditioned on a series of requirements or an office that works for an area that is not the town but is smaller than the region, which is dedicated to x topic.) Because I could say, "Cheap Housing Office," but I'm still unsure, because until I improve my language skills or learn my own, I'm missing some information (Information that may be of interest to that person), and I wanted to get some opinions on the matter.
