Disable sync of Alexa shopping lists to Amazon account?

I use Alexa for a few separate grocery shopping lists. I have my main grocery list and then a few store-specific lists. It's just easy to add things to a list using my voice and knowing it will be on my phone when I do a grocery run.

Just today, I noticed these lists showing up in my Amazon account alongside my Amazon Wish List. My Amazon wish list is specifically for things I expect to buy via Amazon. The Alexa lists are for things I would NEVER purchase from Amazon as I don't typically buy my groceries online.

Is this something new they just rolled out? Maybe something new to Canada? Personally, I hate it. My Alexa lists and Amazon lists were for separate use cases. Does anyone know how to disable this sync so my lists stay separate?

My 12-year old son has a supervised account with me as the supervisor. He loves playing Gorilla Tag but he is unable to purchase "Shiny Rocks" - the in-game currency for the game - directly from within the game.

I searched online and found a workaround where you could buy a gift card digital code for Shiny Rocks and I could apply that code to his account. So far, I've done this twice - once purchasing the gift card via Best Buy and once via Amazon - and it worked.

However, today, when I tried this same process, I'm getting the following error: "This code is not eligible for redemption on behalf of users under supervision."

I don't want to apply the code to my own account as I assume the Shiny Rocks would be given to me and I would have no way to transfer over to my son.

I'm currently waiting for their AI support chat bot to connect me to a human agent, and thought I'd post here while I wait to see if the community could be of any help.

Does anyone have a clue as to why this worked in the past and it suddenly stopped working for me?
