Hi everyone,
I’ve been going through the arranged marriage process for a while now and wanted to share my perspective as well as understand how others are approaching it.
I’m 29, originally from Punjab and currently working in Delhi NCR(flexible about the locations like BLR/HYD/Pune/or any IT city). From what I’ve experienced so far, the biggest challenge isn’t finding profiles—but finding someone where there’s genuine alignment beyond the basics.
I feel the process often becomes very checklist-driven (education, job, background), but long-term compatibility depends a lot more on communication, mindset, and how two people handle life together.
For me personally, I’m looking at:
- Mutual understanding and clarity in intentions
- Balanced outlook (modern + family values)
- Willingness to actually invest time in knowing each other before making decisions
Curious to know from others here:
- How do you evaluate compatibility beyond the usual filters?
- At what point do you decide whether to move forward or not?
Open to hearing different perspectives.
