Haven’t dated seriously since I was a teen, is this normal?
I haven’t really dated anyone seriously since my breakup 5 years ago, then I was 19 years old I’m now 24 years old and don’t know really how to date as an adult/never experienced it.
When I was 19 it consisted of seeing each other as often as we could, texting and calling everyday, etc does that carry over? I ask because someone from my past my frequent problem was that they’d go a hours never more than a day without “texting” I put it in quotation marks because they’d technically send a text that day but I wouldn’t get a response until the following day when I texted back.
Ex: I’d text at night something, they reply back in the morning I’ll text them whenever I see it and from then I won’t get a response until the following day. It happens infrequently and there’s usually never an explanation about the absence just continuation of the conversation at present.
I’m not sure if this is normal because I am unfortunately a victim of TikTok’s relationships algorithm where this behavior will be labeled as toxic but often times relationships are complex and most people that post sometimes aren’t adults or have toxic relationship patterns 🤷♀️
In my mind it’s a battle… on one side it’s like well if they can go without talking to you they don’t really care but on the other side I’ve had moments where I don’t respond/am busy or just don’t feel like engaging with anyone but I feel I’m a bit more considerate and will give the person courtesy in letting them know I’m unavailable.
