Wegovy Pill vs. Injection

I just wanted to provide my experience as someone who has tried the semaglutide shot AND now I'm on the pill. I tried the shot in 2024 (January - April) and lost 30 pounds which was amazing. However, being on the injection was very hard on me. I was struggling to eat and on good days I was maybe taking in 600-800 calories. I had some terrible headaches a day after I had my injection and the nausea/constipation was insane. I was chugging peppermint tea all the time to try and help the nausea. I could no longer afford the medication, so I had to stop. I kept the weight off for about a year, and during the end of 2025 and beginning of 2026, I have since gained almost all of it back (just shy of about 5 pounds). I have now started the Wegovy pill and have been on it for a week and three days. Things I have already noticed (maybe placebo effect, maybe not?): Food noise is gone, I feel less inflamed, no headaches, and I feel so much less bloated after I eat. Also, I'm still able to actually eat. I don't feel like I'm starving myself on the pill. I do still have some craving for sweets here and there but honestly, I'll just eat one of whatever I'm craving and then I'm good. I don't binge on the craving anymore. I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 5 pounds in a week and 3 days. My doc did tell me that if I start losing more than 1.5 in a week, to let her know and then we'd go to taking the pill like every other day or so. I'm gonna give it another week to see if the weight loss was just maybe water retention/inflammation but this is my experience so far and I'm loving it! If you're curious about the pill, I highly recommend asking your doc about it. I feel soooo much better on it than I did with the shot. It's worth looking into and it's more affordable.

I've always been curious and I forgot to ask my OBGYN at my appt last month but for those of us who struggle to get a period each month...I've always wondered how exactly the phases work. I know you have your follicular, luteal, and period...but let's say I ovulate and I go into my luteal phase but don't get my period. Am I just stuck in the luteal phase until I get my next period (sometimes that can be 3 months or longer) or does my body reset and try to ovulate again? Just trying to understand more as to how my body works and how to better track it.

Hey y'all! I just had my appointment with my doctor this morning and she gave me some samples to start the Wegovy Pill. Has anyone else that has been on this medication for a little bit needed to supplement at all? I forgot to ask my doctor (I plan to) but just wasn't sure if there was anyone with experience on it that may have suggestions?

Hey there!

I have a consultation next week with my PCP to start me on the Wegovy Pill. Does anyone have good experiences yet taking this medication vs. the shot?
