It's day 4 of being jetlagged for us and our 2.5 year old toddlers. And when I say jetlagged, I mean 12 hour time difference. After an absolutely horrific set of flights, my twins have been absolutely wrecked and are having meltdowns lasting several hours sometimes. They're cranky, delirious and extremely loopy. Things are slowly improving and they're becoming more themselves, but they fight bedtime and naptime like crazy.

We are staying with my in laws and they have no appreciation for how difficult this is:

- managing your own jetlag

- the insane time difference and what this does to a toddlers body

-running on less than 4 hrs of sleep a night

- we have two and this is more than twice the work, mental load and logistics.

Today they sat me down and wanted to talk to me about the tantrums my kids were having. Apparently their kids never had tantrums. Firstly, they're not tantrums, they are meltdowns from very overtired nervous systems. Secondly, your memory must be a bit foggy.

They also suggested leaving our overtired toddlers in the room and closing the door when they're melting down before bedtime. Leaving screaming flailing toddler twins in a non- childproof room by themselves seems like a great idea.

What is even worse is that they both had severe jetlag when visiting is and so I thought they could appreciate the situation.

No point to this post other than ranting.
