The thermostat is shut off but the furnace keeps blasting, it's been like this 2 days now. The apartment is sweltering!

This seems like a maintenance emergency to me. The property management company emailed and said somebody won't be here to look at it for 5 days. (It's supposed to go up to 82 on Tuesday).

Is this unsafe? What should I do till then?
