Starting a Pure Honey Business in Pakistan, Need Guidance from Ecommerce & Startup Experts

I want to start a pure honey business in Pakistan and need guidance from experienced people here.

The biggest challenge in this business is customer trust. In Pakistan, most people simply don’t believe whether honey is pure or not and honestly, I understand why. There’s very little public awareness about honey bees, flowering seasons, nectar/pollen sources, different honey types, crystallization and proper methods of testing honey purity.

My father is a honey bee research scientist in a government organization and has more than 30 years of experience in this field. Growing up, we tasted honey directly from bee colonies, and our house always had different varieties of honey available throughout the year. Through my father, we’ve even tried unique honey types that most people probably have never heard of or tasted.

His office also regularly conducts training programs for beekeepers and honey farms, and many people have successfully launched honey businesses after learning from him.

Because of this background, me and my brother always wanted to start our own honey brand. We understand the supply chain, honey sourcing, and technical side of the business very well due to our father’s guidance. However, my father was always reluctant to let us enter the business while he was still in government service. Now that he is nearing retirement, we feel this is finally the right time to begin.

Both of us currently work full-time jobs, so time management is our biggest issue. We actually created a website for the business some time ago, but never properly launched or marketed it. Recently, we bought around 50kg of honey from a trusted beekeeper source (recommended by our father obviously), and sold it successfully through personal connections.

Now we want to scale this properly.

So far we have:

  • Honey supply chain
  • Two honey variants
  • Packaging jars
  • Stickers/labels
  • Basic branding

Our main concern is that since both of us are working jobs, we don’t have enough time to manage everything ourselves.

Would you recommend:

  1. Hiring a third-party agency/person to handle marketing, ads, and operations?
  2. Or should we keep operations in-house initially and grow slowly?

We would genuinely appreciate guidance regarding:

  • Finance management
  • Ads/marketing
  • Ecommerce setup
  • Delivery/logistics
  • Branding
  • Customer trust building
  • Mistakes to avoid in Pakistani ecommerce

Would love to hear advice from anyone has tried ecommerce before.
