I launched my shop last week as a way to pivot towards the running industry. I've used and created running plans before and wanted to build something with genuine with detailed guidance rather than the empty calendar-style plans that are common on Etsy. I know it's early days and I'm not expecting fireworks yet, but I'm enjoying creating and listing!
My two questions:
- Pricing is hard since most competing plans are basic calendars, mine are detailed guides. Etsy's buyer protection fee makes my listed prices look odd (£5.99 becomes £7.19). Should I adjust my prices so the buyer-facing number is cleaner, or leave it?
- Do my listings feel professional and trustworthy enough to convert cold traffic? Digital downloads rely on trust before reviews exist, so I'd love honest eyes on whether mine get there.
Required questions answered:
- What inspired me? Wanting something of my own connected to a genuine passion, and building experience towards a career move into the running industry.
- What research have I done? Lots of SEO research and realistic Etsy journey content on YouTube. The main thing I've taken away is that patience matters and the first few sales are the hardest to get.
