Checking already ripped files for errors - XLD and dBpoweramp users

I have a couple of questions regarding checking the accuracy of already ripped files and hope that some XLD and dBpoweramp users can enlighten me and confirm what I have already discovered.

About six months ago I started the process of updating my library of compressed files to lossless. You can guess where this is going. I have started discovering skips and errors and it would take a very long time to listen to all the albums to confirm their accuracy by ear.

The ability to upload albums to a database to verify by just dragging and dropping them in browser would be great but it doesn't seem to exist.

Re XLD: Is that correct that I can generate cue and log files of already ripped albums, then just open as disc image and have XLD check them against the AccurateRip database?

Re dBpoweramp: I'd need to download the perfectTUNES app and use the AccurateRip function within that. Can you just open album folders in the AccurateRip app and have it check them or do you need to allow it permission to scan your entire music collection? Knowing that it can delete files with errors and correct metadata makes me very wary of allowing permission unless it is super clear that I am allowing read permission only; and not write. I definitely do not want an app making changes to my collection.

If people have other suggestions about good ways to check existing files for errors I'm all ears.
