Suggestions for stocking.
Looking for suggestions on stocking this 10gallon. I set this aquarium up in November 2025(6 months ago), and just had it fishless cycling with substrate and hardscape until 1 month ago, when I planted Alternanthera Reineckii, Staurogyne repens, a Limnophila species sold as aromatica, Java Fern Mini "Philippines", and Fissidens fontanus. I added a CO2 setup when I added the plants. I also introduced some ostracods and other micro organisms from the local stream back when it was still just hardscape. Those have gone nuts.
My substrate is cleaned local river sand, and old Marfield ContraSoil I had in a bag from 2016. Hardscape is various rocks from the river and some from an old tank, and some local driftwood I super glued together.
My water parameters are 10 gallons of tap water, PH 7.4 (6.4 when CO2 is on), 4° KH, 8°GH.
Any suggestions for fauna would be appreciated. I would like nano fish, some neocaridina shrimp, some snails (not nerite).
I was leaning towards a group of Heterandria formosa, and orange neocaridina with some ramshorn snails, but I think my wife would like more color, or an interesting behavior from the fish.
