I've been in the medical aesthetics game for about 8 years. US, Tokyo, Hong Kong, bit of everything. But Korea... yeah, it's different.
And I don't mean just the price (though yeah, it's like 60% of what I'd pay in the US). It's more like... the whole vibe?
In the US you feel weird about telling anyone you got work done. In Korea? People literally go on their lunch break for botox. No big deal. The clinic I went to had people coming in like it was nothing. That's normal there.
My doctor is apparently super experienced, does Ultherapy like 20 times a week. Not exaggerating. She looked at my face and actually talked to me for like 25 minutes before touching anything. In the US I'm usually in and out in 10.
Did:
1)Ultherapy on jawline + neck
2)Some skin boosters because my skin was looking kinda dull
One thing that surprised me: I asked about fillers and she was like "not yet, you don't need it." Like... a doctor actually telling me NO? In the US they'll sell you everything.
They have every device imaginable there too. Thermage, Ultherapy, Inmode, all that jazz. Not some random one-clinic wonder.
The English translator was actually good too, not some broken translation app situation. She knew her stuff.
Q: Would I go back? Yeah actually. Busan is way more chill than Seoul anyway. Beach, seafood, less touristy. Plus my face looks better so that's cool.
