If you didn't now this used to be the stonecutter back in the day. I think they should bring it back with a catch. You should be able to feed hoppers in & out of it and you can set the type by putting the block of choice in a UI under it and setting it to said type. Then using a Redstone signal to spit it out. (2nd Pic. is the theoretical recipe.)
