Poising result after filing balance wheel
Hi, a few days ago I asked about approach to poising after dynamically measuring a poising error on a 1940s watch.
https://www.reddit.com/r/watchrepair/comments/1srnxa9/poising_1940s_rolex_how_to/
I went for it and filed away some weight from the heavy spot, and later moved the timing screws out a quarter turn to make up for the weight loss.
Did it in small steps, remeasuring, trying to balance the risk of repeatedly removing & replacing the balance wheel, vs taking away too much material.
Dramatic improvement! It went from 600 seconds positional variance to around 10. And as a bonus, the remaining 0.2 beat error that I was going to leave is now zero. Thanks for the help.
