I just wanted to share a positive RMA experience I had with ASUS, since I know there are a lot of mixed (and honestly, mostly negative) reviews and stories out there.

I have an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Formula, and I started running into boot issues it was specifically a DRAM light during startup. Memory training wouldn’t complete, and I couldn’t get a stable boot unless I went back to my old RAM kit. While inspecting things, I did notice I had one slightly bent CPU socket pin, but it was a ground pin, so i knew that it wasn’t the root cause of the issue as with my old RAM kit it would boot with no issues.

I decided to send it in anyway as I was upgrading to 96Gb of RAM and I wasn’t able to use the kit. I went with the cheapest shipping option, and it got to them in about 3 days. What really surprised me was how fast everything moved after that after receiving it they diagnosed it almost immediately, and within about 4 days I already had a notification that it has been repaired and it was being shipped back.

Today I got the board back, I was honestly extremely impressed. They had completely replaced the CPU socket and addressed the initial issues I was having with the memory training not working. The board came back in excellent condition, basically like the first day I unboxed it looked brand new.

The best part to me was I wasn’t charged anything extra. I fully expected and was ready and willing to pay because that the bent pin might void warranty coverage or at least result in a repair fee, since that’s usually what you hear but that wasn’t the case here.

Total turnaround time was around 2 weeks max from start to finish.

Just wanted to put this out there for anyone hesitant about going through the RMA process. I know not everyone has the same experience, but in my case, ASUS really came through and I am extremely pleased with the service and turn around time over all it was great I’m glad i decided to do it
