4K DLSS performance hitting VRAM limit

Been playing Re9 in 4k PT performance/balanced recently and usually the vram usage is around 12 to 14gb.

However when reach Raccoon city as Leon the VRAM usage spiked to 15gb+ causing insane stuttering, FPS drop to unplayable level.

Also Witcher 3 Next Gen with RT enabled (game that released few years ago) is hitting the VRAM limit in Novigrad causing insane stuttering too.

Is it the optimisation issue or we are closer to 16gb vram limit in modern 4k path tracing/RT game earlier than we thought? Plus I only play in performance mode most of the time.

5080 is not cheap by all means and the only next available option is 5090 😑 Or Nvidia benching 5080 with 16gb vram because of Neural Texture Compression that might or might not release in future?

5700X3D to 7800X3D in 4K

Recently I just upgraded to 5080 and using a 4K 240hz OLED monitor.

Currently still using AM4 I built quite sometime ago: 5700X3D and 32gb 3200mhz ddr4.

Most of the games my GPU can run 95 to 99 percent, only certain games like wuthering waves (in city) and NTE where my GPU usage will drop to 70 to 80 percent. Is it my 5700X3D bottlenecking my 5080?

With the crazy price of ram right now, if I upgrade to 7800X3D will it bring noticeable performance increase over 5700X3D especially in 4k?
