I picked up some free firewood. Can you guys tell me what kind of wood it is? I'm used to paper Birch and spruce. I think some of this might be birch, but not paper birch which has bark that peels off real thin. Some of this has really thick bark with deep grooves. And some of the wood is this weird, mottled brown/white pattern like a henna tattoo. That stuff is soft and doesn't split very well.
