Please Stop buying Cruise Ship trips to Alaska
I don't even want to bring up the horrors and damages of the bloated tourism industry absolutely choking some of the southeast Alaskan towns up. It's been a growing elephant filling up more space in the room.
They do millions in damages to the ecosystem in the way of deliberately polluting water while paying out hush money. Almost all of the tours promoted on the ship are either business owners paying far too much for a little exposure or mega corporations wrangling the tourism market to their own pockets.
The no-cap is a joke and there will be disasters this year. There is not enough infrastructure pre-existing to withstand the entire population of the city loads of passengers offloading every day.
The roads are still in ruins and the season kicks off in less than two weeks. This year I have a feeling will be a wake up call to the disillusioned idea that this is sustainable.
Alaska Railroad
The Alaska Railroad offers one of the most breathtaking rail journeys in North America, connecting Fairbanks to Seward through some of Alaska’s most pristine wilderness. Passengers travel through boreal forests, past glaciers, over rushing rivers, and alongside Denali — North America’s tallest peak. The railroad’s flagship Coastal Classic route runs between Anchorage and Seward, while the Denali Star connects Anchorage to Fairbanks
Rep. Nelson opposing Right to Repair for Alaskans
"I've been talking to my constituents, and they hear of my, you know, pretty obvious opposition to this bill. They're irritated at me, for opposing their right to repair their products."
Why did Sen. Dan dis the President?
Dan Sullivan blamed president for fuel prices crushing Americans
Sen. Dan Sullivan was appalled at how much it had cost him to fill up his pickup truck with gas in Anchorage, blaming the president of the United States for skyrocketing fuel prices that were crushing people across the country.
“Had it been fully empty it would have been $142 to fill up the tank of one truck. In America. Devastating to working families, but nobody’s being fooled. Nobody’s being fooled,” said Sullivan, appearing with other Republicans equally outraged at the price of gasoline.
Sullivan said it was entirely the president’s fault that oil prices had risen to more than $100 a barrel. It was the president’s fault that Sullivan had to pay $4.69 a gallon to fill up his truck.
To back up his claim that nobody was being fooled, Sullivan took a photo of a sticker pasted on an Anchorage gas pump that showed an image of the president and the words “I did that!”
All this happened exactly four years ago when gas prices rose sharply after Putin invaded Ukraine and world oil prices topped $100.
“Joe Biden. I did that! I did that! Alright? Nobody in America’s being fooled. This isn’t Putin. This is Biden,” said Sullivan on April 6, 2022.

Mat-Su regional employee drug tests
Hi friends!
I’m just curious if there are any Matsu regional employees on here I can ask a question to?
My cousin works at Matsu, and I want to look into employment there, but the only thing that’s holding me back is the drug tests. I use Marijuana for chronic pain as it’s more reliable and accessible than medications prescribed by my Dr.
I know my cousin said that they don’t test for it for the initial employee screening, but they said they don’t know if they test for it in their random drug tests.
I just wanna know beforehand so I don’t waste my time in applying for a job I can’t even keep if I can’t continue to use marijuana even though I don’t use it before, or during work and only use it on my off days.
Any answers appreciated! Thanks!
