I recently went to the dentist following a painful tooth. She did a check up and xray and told me I needed an extraction on the top right molar or a root canal. Also was advised that I have type 2 gum disease would need a hygienist to do a deep clean plus start flossing with brushing teeth twice daily.

It was a shock for me to hear all this, I just went in for a checkup and with already a mountain of problems in life there has been another one added.

I feel like now I am leaning towards the tooth extraction. Root canal is expensive, she said it would have to be private with professional and around £500-£2k and then book in with the hygienist regarding the gums.

What is it like having a tooth extraction? Is the whole process painful? Am I going to feel really weird without a molar (it’s right at the back next to wisdom tooth)?

I really want to start taking care of my teeth, it was a wake up call for me. Toothache is not a joke and you only realise once it’s too late. My neighbour is in his 70ish and the only advice he gives me is take care of your teeth. Now I know.

I made my first successful rose cutting not sure what I was expecting but it definitely wasn’t a rose bud this yearly on. Chatgpt says I should remove it so the root system can get stronger. What should I do?
