having been accepted into an MBA program at an IIM i have requested for a reduction to my notice period from 90 days to 40 days. however I am a part of a new project with a prestigious client and working on a niche skill. My manager is saying he can’t yet agree to relieving me on my said date as he would have to look for a replacement which is hard to come by for my skill set. I don’t want to sacrifice my career ambitions over this but I am also attached to this place and want to part ways amicably. Please tell me what are my options. As per him the HR would have no issues since it’s for higher studies then what is the problem here?

it’s really disappointing to see that both iim jammu and bodh gaya seem to have waitlisted everyone and not released any waitlist numbers. furthermore to charge 20k to release waitlist number after 21st May jeopardises candidates who might have been holding accepting offers from other institutions in favour of these ones.

As candidates we must strongly register our feedbacks against this being done to us and make sure that they don’t repeat something so arbitrary in the future. Even if 100 of us send them an email protesting these actions of theirs, that should help them know what and how to do better! after all for a lot of us delays in admission process are about our career and future. a reliable data will help us make better and informed choices.
