I like the eateries in East Nashville but you really pay premium to live there. How is living in Old Hickory?

Are there enough delicious restaurants?

Are the commercial areas seedy, with lots of dollar stores and check cashing type places?

Are there good grocery stores with abundant fresh produce?

Where are the safe parts of town, where you’d feel comfortable taking a walk in the evenings, and no one is barring up their windows and doors?

How is resale? Do homes sit on the market for months or longer? Or are there parts where people want to get in and homes move quickly?

TIA!

I‘m looking for a small beach town to live in for a couple years. I have this daydream of riding my bicycle to the beach and to town. The town is low key pretty, far removed from the glamour of Palm Beach and Miami.

If this town or city was a person, it would be the boy or girl next door. Approachable and real, in shorts and sandals.

Does this exist in Florida? Where is it?

After months of searching, I found the most charming house that is actually priced below my max. But it has a 4/10 flood risk rating on Redfin. I think it might be wrong because other homes on the same street and in the area have 1/10 risk of flood.

But it would be a nightmare when it’s my turn to sell to have the home sit..and sit…on the market until it finally sells at a painful loss.

Do homebuyers really decide for or against based on Redfin’s climate risk ratings?
