A more accurate depiction of Baphomet

Explanation:

The popular image of Baphomet as a winged, goat-headed beast is a relatively modern invention, largely originating in the 19th century. Historically, the name “Baphomet” had no direct connection to the goat-like demon figure and may have originally been used as a corruption of other names during the 11th to 14th centuries.

Descriptions of Baphomet, extracted from confessions made by the Knights Templar during the Inquisition that began in 1307, were highly inconsistent. Some Templars denied any knowledge of him, while others described an idol in various forms, including a severed or bearded head or skull, a cat idol, or a head with three faces.

When designing this creature, I combined these different descriptions into a single concept. The result is an eldritch being with a feline-like body and a decapitated, three-faced, human-like head. Personally I find it more disturbing.

Speculative biology of the Hidebehind

The Kryvopiso (also known as the Hidebehind) is a species of enormous mustelid, most closely related to weasels. It possesses a slender, highly flexible body adapted for concealment, allowing it to slip behind trees or rocks with uncanny ease. Kryvopisos are covered in dark, earth-toned fur that blends seamlessly with the forest at night, rendering them almost invisible in low light. These creatures are also equipped with sharp teeth and powerful claws desighned for killing. Like mustelids in general, they are inquisitive, scent-driven predators with keen senses, a trait that may explain the creature’s well-known aversion to alcohol. Kryvopisos are strictly nocturnal hunters that rely on patience, stealth, and ambush. They stalk their prey silently from cover, hiding until the precise moment to strike, at which point they attack with brutal efficiency.

Speculative biology of the Kurreah

The Kurreah (or Kurrea) is a large, serpent-like, semi-aquatic cryptid sometimes described as a giant, water-dwelling reptile inhabiting Boobera Lagoon and rivers in New South Wales, Australia. It is characterized by crocodilian jaws, thick scales (ranging in color from green to red), webbed feet, and a prehensile tail. The creature is often described as a massive reptile exceeding 20 feet in length, sometimes featuring frills around its neck. The tail is long and flexible, used to wrap around and trap prey. Kurreahs are also said to dig tunnels to move between water sources. They are considered highly hostile in Aboriginal folklore, with stories claiming these creatures attack and drown people who swim or fish in their territory.

In my depiction, the Kurreah is neither a crocodile nor a serpent, but a huge, strange lizard. It's frills are similar to those of frilled dragons, which also live in Australia. This could mean that they share a common ancestor. Its tail is not only proportionally very long but also very strong and prehensile.
