Repainting the bathroom

We had a ceiling leak, got it fixed, and lost the original paint color in the process. Instead of trying to match it, we’re just going to repaint everything.

The space is small and narrow with no windows, white cabinets, white quartz countertops, brass/gold fixtures, and warm wood floors. We’re not replacing any fixtures, but we’re open to swapping the shower curtain.

Any specific paint color recommendations that have worked in a similar space?

A Bergen County man has been found guilty of murdering a former professional basketball player by drugging him, striking him in the head with a cinder block and leaving his body in a vehicle on a Brooklyn street.

On Friday, a jury convicted 69-year-old Mark Holdbrooks of killing former New York Knicks draft pick Michael Wright to conclude an eight-week trial that was held in Passaic County Superior Court due to a change of venue.

In New Jersey, first-degree murder carries a sentence of 30 years to life in state prison, of which the defendant must serve 30 years before parole eligibility.

Holdbrooks’ sentencing is scheduled for July 10.

In November 2015, the New York City Police Department located Wright’s body in an SUV parked on a Brooklyn street, according to the Bergen County Prosecutors Office.

Wright, who never played in a regular season NBA game but managed to continue his professional career overseas for more than a decade, had previously been reported missing by Holdbrooks, with whom he lived in Closter. At the time, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office initiated a joint investigation with the Closter Police Department and the New York City Police Department.

During their probe, detectives found that Holdbrooks drugged Wright, then 35, with Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) at their Closter home and killed Wright by striking him in the head with a cinder block five days before his body was discovered.

Law enforcement also determined that Wright’s vehicle was subsequently driven into Brooklyn, where his body was disposed of by co-defendant King Victor, who previously pleaded guilty to related charges.

Holdbrooks was also convicted Friday of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, theft by deception, disturbing human remains, possession of Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid (GHB),hindering his own apprehension by destruction of evidence and hindering his own apprehension by providing false information to law enforcement.

“Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella thanks the prosecution team for its zealous advocacy for the victim and his family, and for helping to bring justice for Mr. Wright,” a spokesman for the Bergen County Prosecutors Office wrote in a statement. “He further recognizes the vital partnership of the Union County Prosecutor’s Office and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office throughout the duration of this complex prosecution.”

Wright, a Chicago native, helped lead the University of Arizona to the Final Four in 2001 before the Knicks selected him in the second round of the NBA Draft with the No. 38 pick overall.
