Getting Hacked!
Hello everybody,
I’ve had the literal craziest experience for the last few months. I moved into a new place, an efficiency, meaning there is a house with a part of it split into a smaller unit allowing the owner to rent both parts the actual house is still for rent, so its empty. A couple of days after I move in I start hearing noises and walking around in the attic (no access from the efficiency but the house obviously does). I tell the realtor and the owner and of course they think i’m a little bit crazy so somebody comes in and checks the house and they find nothing. This is where the real fun begins. I start to notice that things are being moved and or missing. I start getting alerts on my Iphone that somebody is trying to access my email via authenticator and I just hit deny constantly. So then I decide to install Ring Cameras and everything goes well until I start to notice the same cars keep circling the house constantly. When I go check the recent events on my Ring app I never have anything other than myself on camera. So I buy a different brand of cams and the same thing keeps happing over and over. I add 2FA on every account I own and change every password multiple times and they are still somehow able to delete all my videos showing the cars and the time stamps from when they pass by. At this point everybody thinks i’m crazy and depressed ( going through a divorce ETC.) So I don’t feel comfortable there because I feel like i’m being watched constantly. And I move back into my grandmother apartment. The same thing continues to happen and i’m at a total loss as to how in the world they are accessing my accounts. All of a sudden i’m in the bathroom in my grandmothers apartment and I get a notification about the fastest route to work, which is odd because I work remotely. As I open it I see its like a woman’s hair salon or Spa and I hear “oh shit” and running footsteps so I go outside and lo and behold I see a dude and a chick run into a white corolla and leave super fast. Luckily I got a picture of him no tag. Turns out, they had actually been in the attic and somehow got ahold of my iPhone passcode and password. With this, he or she used the passcode and password to access iCloud.com and set up an “alternate” face ID. Now, having access to face ID he has access to literally anything and everything on my phone. I guess she installed a copy of my phone onto an iPhone and having my password and passcode she was able to effectively clone my phone. I was starting to think I was absolutely insane but it turns out this is a pretty common security flaw (people seeing your passcode then stealing your phone having access to all your passwords and financial data). However, in this case since he was watching me via the attic no theft of the phone was necessary. Be careful with this, if it wasn’t for that notification about work I would have probably ended up in a psychiatric hospital because I legit knew I heard them talk and their footsteps but I could NEVER get them on camera.
Turns out my upstairs neighbor allowed them into their house to eve’s drop on me too. What should I do? They literally have destroyed my life. My family thought I was going crazy and I even started seeing a doctor and taking meds. Please be very careful who you allow to have your passcode. Don’t just put your code into your phone without checking over your shoulder. This has been hands down one of the most horrible experiences ever. They even broke into my house while I was asleep since the passcode on my lock for the door was the same as my phone.
What type of lawyer should I see about this? I’m going to file the police report tomorrow morning but I wan’t little team of thieves to pay for what they did to me.
Lesson learned. Thank god I was able to take a picture of his face and you can see the woman hiding next to him in the passenger seat.
What do you guys think ? He must live close by i’m sure I can drive around and find his car in the neighborhood. I’m so drained and tired of this situation but i’m just happy that I proved to myself I wasn’t crazy and there was somebody up there in the attic spying on me.
