So, I checked out the mock given on the IISER website and it has many questions from out of syllabus topics? For example, one question was about the ore of iron, and another I saw was about something related to Ellingham diagram. Well, after looking it up, both of these questions are from the excluded chapter, Principles and Processes of isolation of elements. However, that is not included in the latest syllabus.

So are these topics to be studied?
