I have done a silly foolish thing. I had been looking around for a scale jeep for a while. I thought it would be fun to have a smallish mini of my irl jeep. I came across the Killerbody 1/10 Gladiator and gushed about it with my husband and thought to myself this is perfect! I thought the chassis, body and seat kit would be all I needed to have it neatly set up in my office for dioramas, etc.

My husband bought me the body for my birthday so I picked up the mercury Killerbody chassis with a light kit. We both knew it was a r/c base and we got to thinking maybe I needed a controller and battery to make it good to go. I googled some more and realized I needed quite a few other things to make it playable. I explained my findings to him this morning and he’s a bit downcast since he didn’t realize the gift he gave me opened a huge can of worms that will likely cost me a bunch more to get it actually working. I told him let’s just do it, we’ll have fun with it.

A reddit link with info on controllers/receivers brought me to this sub. I humbly ask, for this chassis, may some of you fine folks recommend some guts I might pair up with this? I’m invested now and I want to see it through, I imagine little jeep crawling on big jeep and I need this in my life. I am certainly most interested in scale and trail, and it won’t really be climbing big rocks especially considering the chassis I picked for it. I believe I need servos, speed controller, motor, battery and transmitter/receiver. There’s tons of options and I’d like help with a starting point please, also thank you. I am excited to build it!

I haven’t yet decided exactly what I wanted to do with these, but I loved the idea of the skin color one to appear freshly ‘activated’. They’re a nice clean build and they give you several chest options and bottoms options. I had enough bits in the kit to give the skin colored version a white body too. I do wish they gave you more eyeballs to stick in the faceplates, there are two sets. One with decals and one blank for customization.
