2.2 hp two stroke keeps cutting out

I am trying to get this Suzuki 2.2 hp two stroke engine running again after a few years in storage. The engine turns and it will run for 2-3 seconds but then cuts out. It will only start like this if choke is open and the revs are up. If choke is closed it just won’t start at all. I opened carb up and it looks clean. Any ideas? I have never fully removed the carb so a bit nervous about doing that if I don’t need to.
