let me start by saying I know I’m not completely innocent. I was on a call with a customer who wanted her prescriptions to be transferred from a different pharmacy. I told her transfers can take up to 24 hours. She said she needs her medicine today so I repeated the same thing that “ transfers can take up to 24 hours, Is there anything else I can help you with?” yeah I might’ve been robotic because i was annoyed when customers give us a hard time and demand everything without patience. She asked for my name and then I hung up. (i know i shouldn’t have but i just couldn’t handle it)

She called back a couple times, so I told the pharmacist on duty to pick up the phone, because it was some lady who was mad I hung up on her. She told the pharmacist I hung up without listening to anything she said which doesn’t make sense because how else did I get all the transfer information. The girl asked for my name and the Pharmacist gave it to her.

I’m annoyed at the Pharmacist on duty because she said she won’t give out my name and just say she didn’t know who the lady talked to. But when the girl called back, she gave my name anyway.

Are we required to give the name to patients when they ask for our name? Yes I know I am in the wrong for hanging up, but what should I do? If a customer asks for my name after I show a bit of annoyance or attitude to them. I don’t mean to show it, but sometimes they’re really annoying and entitled. I don’t wanna give my name out because I know they’re just try to report me. any advice?? I don’t want to give a stranger my name.

It’s unfair because I wish we can report patients for being rude. But when us technicians are not having the best day and we show a bit of attitude, then they can easily just report us?

I feel so drained like my spirit is taken away from me and I feel like I wanna quit when I deal with a rude person.
