Potentially offensive name after an event that Isn’t that well known?

I had a wonderful dream about a made up religion a couple of months ago, and I’ve decided to insert it into some of my writing. So far it has made everything feel more whole, but I do have a bit of a problem with the name of my Prophet.

He was an eyeless man named "Seyfo" who manipulated the skies and was given permission to perform the ultimate miracle (to show up in multiple places at once.)

Immediately after having this dream I made sure to look it up to make sure my brain wasn’t plagiarizing some sort of obscure media that I’d watched and forgotten about.

Turns out "Seyfo" or "Sayfo" is the name used by the Syriac and Assyrian peoples to describe the mass murder (genocide) of their people by the Ottomans. I thought it was the coolest name ever until I read that.

Now i’m wondering if I should keep the name or change it? It’s like the equivalent of naming a character "The Holocaust" except that a LOT of people don’t know about it. (in the west at least.)

I can’t think of a name to replace it? It doesn’t feel the same when I call him by something else. I originally had no idea what his name meant before I looked it up. There were no ill intentions.

The main character for this project I really want to get done is basically me with a couple tweaks (1 or 2 for the better, most for the worse.) I start to wonder if it’s too much? I don’t want to write a self insert, and I make sure to remind myself that my own experiences don’t limit what can happen in the story. This got me wondering how similar you guys are to your MCs. I’m mostly scared of my own expectations getting in the way (my own limits, I should say.)

I just had the most vivid lucid dream of my entire life. I entered the hypnagogic state and remained calm until I regained control of my body. I look at the mirror and do reality checks, I count my fingers and you know what? I COUNT 5 ON EACH HAND. I pinch my nose and try to breathe (and I do!) and then I realize that I’m dreaming.

I then spend a couple of minutes exploring physical sensations, like touching and tasting. It was extremely realistic, I was confusing it for real life multiple times. counting my fingers wasn’t working because I kept counting 5 every single time. The only thing that worked was pinching my nose. Anyways, this lucid dream sucked because it was SO REALISTIC that I didn’t expect any fun things to happen, so they didn’t. I walked outside and it was a regular boring day. I tried to fly, couldn’t. I tried to steal a car, but I couldn’t. I tried to imagine myself in a cool place, or talk to someone that I’ve wanted to talk to for a long time, and NOTHING HAPPENED. I kept counting my fingers and pinching my nose over and over until I forgot I was dreaming. It was so realistic I felt limited my the limits of real life EVEN THOUGH I KNEW I WAS DREAMING. I DIDNT GET TO DO ANYTHING.

What do you guys think? I’d want someone that makes me feel special as well. I would not say i’m entitled to such a lady, but i’m not some sort of bum who lays down all day. I have a stable job and am very responsible.

I’m not a religious person anymore.

I was in the middle of an enormous place that reminded me of a junkyard. There was machinery everywhere, and the sky was grey from how much pollution there was. Behind all the garbage and machines, there was a train station that seemed to go on forever. It was enormous and was probably used for loading and unloading heavy cargo. It was very simple, made of brick with arches and slanted roofs (like this ^) It was surrounded by an enormous body of water on both sides, and the ocean also went on forever. I climbed over the garbage and walked through the arches and it felt like forever. It got foggy and I couldn’t see in front of me, but I kept going and didn’t stop until I was in front of a bunch of trees and bushes. It was like someone imported a couple square meters of pure jungle. I turn back and see a tall figure wearing a white robe. His face was obstructed but I could tell that there was something significantly important about him. He walked past me and went into the jungle, and I kept staring as his back was turned towards me. For some reason, I said "Mi Señor?" and he turned to look at me. Again, I couldn’t see his face, but the feeling was there. For some reason, this dream felt more surreal than anything. I said it again, and he just stood there until I woke up.
