New to the reserves and signing my contract soon, just looking for some insight into how the barracks are? I'm a prior service marine and my barracks experience wasn't great. Only good part was setting up a communal kitchen in the common room on 1st deck. Anyone who's recently graduated Willing to give me a little insight?
Entry level separated prior service marine here, I've been in talks with a reserves recruiter about joining and an HM and my end goal and going to FMTB. I'm getting some conflicting information on my contract, specifically if I can get a guaranteed slot or not. Some sources say yes, some say no. I'm just looking for some clarification here. As a prior service marine I was under the impression I have a bit of wiggle room when it comes to marine adjacent billets like FMTB or greenside. Any advice is much appreciated.
Looking into joining the CG. For reference I'm a prior service marine (ELS due to fraudulent enlistment, RE3 code) and I'm in the process of obtaining my EMT. As far as I'm aware if I obtained said EMT I'd be able to skip over a portion of the medical A school? Just looking for some general advice as I'd like to be a flight medic at some point if y'all have a role like that other than being a rescue swimmer? Any input is much appreciated. Hey all, recently purchased my first shotgun (Maverick 88), and working on setting it up now. For reference i have a stock on the way (pistol grip with fixed buttstock), and the gun came with a 20" barrel. Hoping to maybe get my hands on the 18.5" barrel if possible, and potentially drill and tap it. Not a fan of the bead sights, most of my shooting experience has been on optics. Any recommendations?
