Hey,

I’m a software engineer from India working in AI automation and CRM systems (things like workflow automation, integrations, etc.).

I’ve been looking into working with Australian companies remotely, especially since the timezone overlap works well.

I was curious:

  • Do Australian companies actually hire remote international contractors?
  • Is this common or still rare?
  • Any industries where this is more common?

Just trying to understand how realistic this path is before going deeper into it.

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I’m a Software Engineer based in India with experience in Node.js and Next.js, and over the past 2+ years I’ve been working on AI automation and CRM workflows (GoHighLevel, HubSpot, APIs, webhooks).

I’ve built systems like automated lead pipelines, CRM workflows, and AI-based automation to reduce manual processes.

I’m exploring opportunities with Australian companies (remote/contract), mainly because of timezone overlap and growing demand in automation.

I wanted to ask:

  • Are Australian companies open to hiring remote engineers from abroad for these roles?
  • What’s the best way to approach companies (job boards vs direct outreach)?
  • Is it realistic to transition from remote work to relocation later on?

Would really appreciate any guidance. Thanks!
