Weekly CCC (Equip Support) - Inzektor Mobile Command - u/AgostoAzul
>Inzektor Mobile Command
>Field Spell
>During the Main Phase, you can activate the effects of equipped Insect Xyz monsters that activate by detaching Xyz materials, as Quick Effects. You can target up to 2 face-up Insect Xyz monster(s) you control; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 Insect monster that is 1 Rank higher than the combined ranks of the target(s) by using them as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) You can discard 1 Insect monster; Special Summon 1 "Inzektor" monster from your Deck. You can only use each effect of "Inzektor Mobile Command" once per turn.
My original idea for pushing Equips was making an Xyz monster that enabled any other Xyz monster to activate its effects that deattach materials by sending equips equipped to the Xyz monster to the GY instead, and it was also going to be able to equip Inzektors you control with Inzektors from your Deck, but I really struggled wording the first effect and equipping Inzektors with Inzektors seemed to go against the spirit of encouraging Equip Spells to be played. Plus, of course there is always the lingering fear of discards becoming Quick Effects.
So I decided to make it exclusive for Insect Xyz since there doesn't seem to be much that would break the game but there is still a decent variety of boardwipes, negates and gy hate within Xyz Insects.
Then the card was changed to be a Field Spell because I felt that Inzektors needed help even getting their combos started nowadays and the OG card design of Rank 3 Inzektor would have probably been one of those "better in other decks" cards. And also I wanted to make the Big Spiders easier to bring out.
Presumably Inzektors would also get an Equip Spell that can be equipped to any Insect monster with the wave of support so that Ravenous Tarantula can be equipped with something more archetype relevant.
