Information Sheets From Our Appointment

So we finally got in at a specialist eczema clinic a couple of weeks ago, and reading everyone else's experiences with GPs and lack of help, I thought this couldn't hurt to share.

I'll answer questions where I can, but I'm just a patients' parent, not a medical professional.

I'm a wheelchair user going on holiday, should I ask for a freebie?

So, in 3 weeks I'm going on holiday to a Haven caravan park. It's going to cost an extra 30% of the total I paid for my holiday to choose a specific caravan plot. As I'd be using my wheelchair to get about, it would be a lot easier if I had a caravan in a certain section of the park.

Is it ok to call them and see if they'd do it for free/discounted. Or is it cheeky as hell and not their problem that I want better accessibility?

No hate, genuinely curious.

Why, especially when we have free health care, do so many contributors post pictures of their rashes on this sub?

As far as I know, none of us are medical professionals, just fellow sufferers.

My hands have been pretty dry and moisturising isn't working.

I thought it could be a build up of dead skin and wondered if anyone else had experience with chemical exfoliation? I say PHA specifically because it's the gentlest one and supposedly ok for sensitive skin.

The more I moisturise my hands, the dryer they seem to feel. What is happening?!

Over the past week I've used cetraben overnight ointment, sudacrem, epimax paraffin free and a homemade emollient of shea butter and other oils. I'm doing my best to drink lots of water.

I can't afford to buy any new emollient for the next couple of months, any suggestions?
