I think Requiem is an overal good game, not in my top 5 but it's far from being bad or even mediocre, however I really hope they don't go for the "Half survival horror/Half action game" direction in future entries.
Just to be clear, I'm purely referring to gameplay here.
Overall I felt like neither of the halfs got enough room to breathe and become fully fleshed out, they're both great for what we get but when I compare Grace's section to let's say RE7 and Leon's section to RE4R I can't help but feel like those previous entries had much more substance.
Grace's section is full of innovation and cool ideas like the blood collector and the different zombie behaviours but it just ends abruptly and way too soon.
As for Leon his section is essentially a condensed and streamlined RE4R, the combat is great and fun but it just lacks the depth that made RE4R a joy to replay, you don't get a huge variety of weapons and the economy system was reduced to a bland "get points from enemy kills".
The game is overall still a lot of fun but it's structure prevents it from reaching the heights of it's predecessors, technically they could also fix this by making the next game much longer but I really don't think a 30 hour long RE game would be a good idea.
Let me know what you think
