I quit a heavy Adderall prescription about 9 months ago. About a month after stopping, I started getting constant acne. It’s not cystic. It’s more like under the skin bumps and whiteheads. I never had this issue while on or every before adderall.

I went to a derm and they said it was acne r*sacia and put me on doxycycline for a month. It worked really well, but I finished it last week.

Now I’m about 7 days off and everything is coming back. My skin feels oilier, and I keep getting this tingly burning feeling. The breakouts are starting again too.

I don’t want to stay on antibiotics long term but I really want to figure this out.

Has anyone had acne after quitting Adderall? Or dealt with something like this and found something that actually works?

I (26F) feel like I’ve just been winging it with money and I want to get more intentional, but I don’t really know what I should be focusing on or how I’m doing overall

Here’s where I’m at:

Income:

- $75k salary + ~7% bonus

- $2,086 every two weeks

- $1,720/month from roommates (it’s a 3 bedroom and I live here and rent out two rooms)

Debt:

- Mortgage: ~$344k left, $2,632/month ($100 of that is PMI, the original house cost 365k)

- Car loan: $10k at 5.99%, $238/month

- CareCredit: $2k at 0%, $78/month

Savings / investments:

- $17k in a HYSA

- $28k in 401k (I contribute 6% for the match)

Other:

- Car insurance is $320/month (had an accident in 2023), I do drive electric and charge at home so that helps with the high cost of my car since I don’t have to pay for gas

I haven’t really been budgeting, just paying my bills and saving what I can. I also know I can be impulsive with spending which is part of why I want to get a handle on things now.

I’ve been thinking about opening a Roth IRA but I don’t really know how to think about that vs paying off debt vs just saving more. I also feel like I’m behind on investing and wish I had started earlier.

I guess I’m trying to figure out:

How am I doing?

- what should I focus on first if I want to be smarter with money

- would you start a Roth IRA in my position or focus on paying off loans or putting more in 401k?

- If you were me what would you do over the next year?
