Thanks to anyone who gives recommendations!

Here's some context to explain my interest in case anyone cares to know:

My family lived in Cork for hundreds of years until extreme hardship led by great granny to move to England (of all places) to try and seek a better life. Unfortunately the hatred was so bad she ended up having to live in a slum (one of the last ones to exist apparently). To make sure my grandad didn't go through the same thing she raised him to identify as English so the Irish culture in my family is completely lost. I'd like to be able to learn about it.
