I'm 31 transmasc NB, trying to work on helping my parents understand trans experience and history to demystify it and ultimately get them to be more overtly supportive. I've been out to them for 4 years and on T for 2, but my transition isn't talked about much. I'm looking for book recs, starting with likely Transgender Warriors (Leslie Feinberg) for my dad and some sort of easily digestible memoir for my mom.

They are both left of centre politically but have deep rooted conservative beliefs that they haven't been forced to interrogate or challenge. For my mom, I think she'd like a story that but doesn't drill down the "I always felt and acted different as a kid/teen" message too hard because I did come to realize my transness more in my 20s and presented femme/fit in with girls growing up - of course with dysphoria I didn't understand yet. I don't want to start from a place of grief of her thinking she never understood her child, but focus more on adult life. Would Pageboy or Youngman be good?

If possible, some relatability for her would be nice. For context, I'm giving my dad Leslie's book because he also grew up in NY in the 60s, Jewish, cares about labour movements. My mom cares about animals, arts and cultural Judaism.
