My first knitted sweater ! (first knitting project, and look at the result!)

My first knitted sweater !

Before this, I didn't know how to knit. I had crocheted occasionally for a year before, and I told myself this was the perfect opportunity to learn to knit and use up my leftover yarn.

I started with a stockinette sample (where I twisted all the stitches); and I went for it without a pattern: I just copied the shape of my favorite sweater.

After making the model and a new sample (now without twisting!), I started knitting the body in the round, then continued flat to shape the chest and back, and finally the sleeves in the round which I sewed on at the end, finishing with elastic.

With this project I learned to knit, to increase and decrease stitches, different stitches, and to work with double strands. And I LOVE the result!

I hope you like it as much as I do!

Materials: 8mm needle and worsted wool scraps from crochet projects, double strand knitting.

My first knitted sweater !

Before this, I had only crocheted. I practiced a stockinette stitch sample (where I twisted all the stitches), and decided to learn to knit directly with my first project.

I didn't use any pattern for the sweater, I just took the measurements of my favorite sweater and after thinking a bit and watching some YouTube videos about some techniques or stitches, I went for it.

Thanks to this I learned to control tension, increases and decreases, knit flat and circularly, and to make different stitches according to the need.

Now I feel like I can knit anything!

Very happy with the result, I hope you like it!

8mm needles and leftover worsted wool from my crochet projects, knitted two strands at the same time.

My first knitted sweater !

I started crocheting a year ago, and after several creations, I decided to learn to knit a month ago. I began with a sample to learn the stockinette stitch (where I twisted all the stitches), then I started this set-in-sleeves sweater. I didn't use any pattern, it was created by me using leftover worsted yarn from crochet projects, knitted with 8mm needles.

I hope you like it!
