Persistent technical issues
Does anyone know what‘s happening with Eurostar rolling stock lately? The engines seem to keep breaking down resulting in cancellations or long delays due to rerouting.
On Monday 4 May, ER 9414 and ER 9426 leaving Cologne at 6:39 and 8:39 for Paris already both got cancelled at the last moment due to technical issues. Today again, Monday 11 May, ER 9414 was leaving Dortmund already with a delay of 1 hour. In Aachen, we were told that the engine does not have enough power to use the high-speed line!?
And now we are stuck just behind Liège because the train cannot make it up the hill!? The train is now going back to Liège where the train will be coupled to another train which will pull us to Brussels. Once in Brussels, we‘ll have to change to another train to Paris.
Is this going to be a regular experience now until the Celestia trains will replace the old rolling stock?
