This guy is confusing
So I (22F) have a guy friend Nate (24M). We go to the same university and met through intramural sports a year ago and have gotten closer. So when he first met I wasn’t interested he was a little older and not completely my type, but he reached out to me a ton and always included me. He followed me on instagram before anyone else in our friend group and also followed my spam account, and over the summer the and during most of the beginning year he liked every post and literally every story I would post.
Now we are both pre-med and similar makes so we made an mcat study group with another friend and took a class together. He seemed into me, he has 9 nicknames for me and would offer his jacket or walk me to my car which could be a mile away and invite me to study a lot.
I started developing feelings for him, and after the quarter I really liked him. He has offered for me to say over at the guys place (our group is mostly guys who live together) but one night I almost did as I made Nate and I margaritas (my idea) but he didn’t offer me to and he went to bed and walked me out. Over spring break before spring quarter I was talking to our mutual friend and he said the guys asked Nate if he likes me and he says I’m a great person but he doesn’t think he’ll ever date me. This was shocking as I thought he really liked me as he also always sat by me and texted me and was sending me some reels. We went to an amusement park with this mutual friend but it ended up just really being Nate and I going in the rides, and the driven him to his home (an hour away) twice now with other friends around.
There’s another thing too. Nate had a girl he met when he transferred to our university a few months before me named Nadia. She was kinda in the picture played a little sports but they were just friends. When he told our mutual friend he doesn’t like me in that way he said the same thing about her. But lately they’ve been inseparable. Whenever I want to hang out with Nate he ALWAYS invites her and they’ve done things like go downtown or get food just together and won’t invite me back. I would hang out with both of them but completely felt like the third wheel.
It’s gotten pretty obvious. I have both their locations and she says she has no problem going over to his place unannounced, she’s stayed overnight multiple times, and just lately they hold hands a touch a lot and are just all over each other. He’s backed off with me he used to tickle me or walk me to my car or give me a jacket but this week he didn’t walk me (even after I hurt my knee and went to get my car to drive them) us three went to get food and he brought her a jacket not me, he helps her get up even though my knee is hurt, and we were at a school festival and I was hanging out with them and they literally were going to ditch me being like “you can stay if you want” even though he had called me to join them…
I feel like he’s choosing her but I just don’t get why I’m not good enough for him and we had a connection idk where it went.
Also a main thing is he went from liking all my stories and lost to not even WATCHING the stories on instagram at all… and he follows 100 people is he avoiding it he’s active a ton
I can’t seem to get how he used to treat me out of my head as it’s how I want a guy too… is it over with us
