Temu Shiba
My 8yo referred to our Shiba Mix (91% Shiba, 9% Lhasa Apso) as a Temu Shiba, and I can't stop laughing about the accuracy. 🤣🤣🤣

Admittedly, I never think of Chelsea as a clever person, so the fact that she made this joke literally made me start screaming. (I'm currently at work, and so my manager witnessed my freak out over this little comment she makes.)
It's my first time actually watching the show all the way through (I can normally only make it through season three before giving up), so I have never heard this come up in any discussions or general people making videos about the show.
Nessa asks Kailyn, "What would your pornstar name be?" Which is a stupid freaking question. And without skipping a beat, Chelsea says, "Farrah."
I'm still laughing about it. My god. 🤣🤣🤣
I didn't watch the show before this, but my mom and grandma did, and when they told me Sabrina and Shawn Johnson (Iowa girl here, who religiously watched the 2008 summer Olympics) were going to be on this season, I was stoked.
Until the sixth week.
I remember the voting system failing her, and I never ended up finishing the season, in spite of Shawn making it so far.
And much like Geri leaving the Spice Girls, I still haven't healed from this. 🤣😅😭
When I, 34f, was fifteen, my mom would offer my babysitting services to her friends and coworkers. I was saving up for Driver's Ed, was an only child of a single parent, and absolutely LOVED kids.
One of my mom's coworkers, we'll call her Molly, was in her early 30s with a 4yo son, we'll call him Xander. I had met her a few times in passing and thought she was really cool. She was the backup singer in a local band that her boyfriend, another coworker my mom knew for years at this point, was also the guitarist in. We'll call him Joey.
I don't know what genre, but they played at local bars and needed a sitter this particular Saturday night. Now for context, Joey was not Xander's father, but had been in his life for three years, so was definitely his Dad. A little bit about Joey, he was a very quiet, shy guy, bald with a long Goatee. Very 90s alt rock aesthetic. He was one of my mom's favorite people. We love Joey.
So the babysitting was fun. Xander was a sweet boy who loved Felix the Cat, cars, and pizza. He was one of the easiest kids I ever had to watch. Sadly, it was the one and only time I ever watched him.
The original plan was to have me spend the night, and for them to take me home in the morning, so I was going to sleep on the couch in the living room. It was an old house, so it was pretty loud with creaky wood floors, squeaky doors, whistley windows, so I had a pretty difficult time falling asleep.
Sometime passes, and I hear people stumble in. I try to doze back off, but I start to hear smooching noises coming from a few feet away. So I peak through my heavy eyelids, and see two figures, one sitting in the recliner, another kneeling on the floor. My heart stops.
I go completely still.
Both figures have hair. (Again, Joey absolutely did not. He was a doppelganger of Ed Kowalczyk. The lead singer of Live, just for more context.)
So I'm thinking to myself, "What fucking time is it? What do I do? Do I call my mom? Do I pretend to be asleep? What do I do, what do I do, what do I do?"
As I'm contemplating my choices, they go to head upstairs. Now, side note, my mom was toxic in her own way, so calling her at 2am terrified me. I know she would've gotten up and picked me up, however, I was also afraid to involve my mom in this drama because she was cheated on by her ex-husband (not my father, and I witnessed it at 7, and was the one who told her) so she would've had a very visceral reaction to her coworker cheating on someone who had become a close friend and colleague. The last thing I wanted was for Xander, a sweet 4yo boy, to witness his mama get her ass whooped by my mom.
So I decided to just try to go back to sleep and see how it played out. Not for the plot, but because my mother's reaction scared me more than anything.
I didn't even consider how Joey would react.
I was probably only asleep for an hour when I awoke to the scariest, angriest scream I'd ever heard. "WHAT THE FUCK, MOLLY?" And I knew instantly what happened.
I was so scared, I just laid there, clutching the blanket, hoping to God it wasn't about to get violent. I hear Joey struggle to wake her (assuming) drunk ass up, but she was three sheets to the wind.
I then hear footsteps come downstairs. And Joey "wakes me up." "Hey kiddo, I'm sorry. But I'm gonna pay you and take you home now." I immediately jumped up and ran out of the house. (It's 4am at this point)
The car ride was extremely tense and awkward. He was holding back tears, clutching the steering wheel so hard his fingers were white. He kept apologizing to me. I told him, "it wasn't your fault." And I even told him to not pay me. (It wasn't his child, and frankly, after that night, I wasn't ever going back.) But he gave me 50 bucks and got me home safe.
The next morning, since I didn't bother waking her up, my mom was extremely confused as to why I was home already, so I spilled the tea for her. She was livid.
By lunch on Monday, I had a missed call and a voicemail from Molly, apologizing for Saturday. She sounded broken. I never responded. It took years for me to even be able to look her in the eyes. I just told my mom to pass along the message that I received and appreciated the apology, but that I wasn't the one she should be groveling to.
Now, you'd think that was the end to the story. It's not. My mom got all of the details later that week from both Joey and Molly.
The guy she cheated with was the lead singer of their band. We'll name him Jack. After Joey caught them in bed together, he didn't budge either. That's how drunk they were. But by the time Joey came back from taking me home, he was gone.
Joey did decide to stay with Molly, much to our chagrin, and she found out shortly thereafter that she was pregnant.
We all wished and hoped for the baby to be Joey's. It wasn't. It was Jack's. But Jack was long gone, the band split up, so Joey stood by Molly and continued to help raise her children.
A few years did go by and they finally had a child together, but it breaks my heart that Joey had to go through that. He really was a wonderful person. And I don't think she ever cheated on him again. I don't know if they're still together.
I haven't seen or spoken to either of them since my mom died a decade ago, but when I think about insane cheating stories, this is one of the craziest I had the misfortune of witnessing.
I hope wherever they are, they're happy and healthy. Especially Joey.
