My brother is being abused by his BPD girlfriend and is too scared to leave. How do we get him out safely?
I need urgent advice.
My brother (27M) is dating a 22F with diagnosed BPD (untreated). The situation has escalated into physical violence.
She has threatened him, hit him, and verbally abused him. Recently, she chased him with a knife in front of my parents—my dad ended up in the hospital from the shock.
My brother knows he’s unhappy and wants out, but he’s too afraid to break up. She’s extremely controlling and isolates him—she even gets angry if I visit and tries to cut him off from me completely.
She moved into my parents’ house and refuses to leave. My parents are letting her stay because they’re scared he’ll leave with her and end up in a worse situation.
He’s changed completely—he can’t even do his job properly anymore.
We’re installing cameras this week because things keep getting worse.
How do we help him leave safely if he’s too scared to do it himself?
Anyone who’s been through something like this—what actually works?
