Made some changes to my CS Recon 1

Ive becom a little bit obsessed with cold steel knives lately. As a veteran i love the idea of a knife that id have a tough time breaking and Cold Steel scratches that itch happily and readily. The prices for what you get are great on a ton of their stuff too, but man do they have a....particular look about them. My goal for this mod was to make it just a bit more easy on the eyes and less "my favorite drink is monster energy and i like katanas", ya know?

The changes were subtle but i think they make a pretty big difference. Ive included a screenshot of the before since i forgot to take pictures before i started, see if you can spat them (there are 4 spots i changed, 3 on the handle and 1 on the blade)

This is my bugout with a set of LynchNW Titanium Mod 2 scales in sandblasted finish and the included deep carry pocket clip in black, knivesplus stainless screw set and large washer mod, aliexpress black backspacer (i like the grip it provides for the axis lock and can be removed for a flow through construction) and thumbstud.

I absolutely love these scales, especially the part above where the index finger would be thats been lowered to had the corner of the blade that benchmade loves to keep exposed on most of their knives. Feels much more thought out, similar to the way the 940 handled it

I used two worksharps to acieve this, the guided field sharpener and the folding field sharpener.

I start with the course plate to establish geometry and angle (dont ask me what angle i did this by hand an i couldnt tell you) then move to the fine plate to remove large scratches.

Next i rough polish on the folding sharpeners ceramic plate since its bigger than the guided sharpeners ceramic rod (ive done my time on that thing).

At this point my grind is clean and geometry established so i begin sharpening by doing 20 strokes edge leading each side on the folding sharpeners fine plate, then 10, then 5. Then do the same on the ceramic with an added 1 stroke each side for 10 rounds. I repeat this on the strop and the results whittle individual hairs on my arm
