Renewing my drivers license/Active duty military
Hello everyone my drivers license is expiring at the end of this month. I am originally from Florida and I joined the Navy a year and a half ago and got stationed here in Illinois, so I live and work and have a new car with an illinois plate. I know since Florida is my home of residency I can still get a florida license, but I dont have the time to go back down to Florida and I would rather not get a military extention card, so I would rather replace my Florida card with an Illinois card. The problem is, all the DMVs here seem to be by appointment only and not walk-in. My work hours are the same as the DMV hours and even when I try to book an appointment on the ILSOS website, it says that my Drivers License Number is invalid, maybe thats because my license number is Florida and not Illinois?
Anyways, does anyone have knowledge/experience with a situation like mine? Are there any walk-in DMVs in Illinois that can help me with this? I don't mind driving across the state to find the right DMV if that is the case. Also if there's any possibility that there's a place open on Saturdays and are able to walk in.
