Genuinely impressed by how bloated Adobe Acrobat feels in 2026

Not “missing one feature” bad.

Acrobat was sitting at 1.41 GB on my system. Entire Linux distributions, windows XP or Skyrim entirely lighter than that.

The UI constantly nudges toward:

  • cloud storage
  • account sign-in
  • sharing
  • notifications
  • subscription features
  • panels I did not ask for
  • “helpful” prompts that mostly help Adobe

Preferences window is un-scrollable with the mouse wheel. Had to drag the scrollbar manually inside a 2026 desktop app.

This is Telemetry, and “engagement” goals layered on top of each other.

It should open documents quickly, let me read them, let me print or save them, and then shut up..
