My 3-year-old just had a dental cleaning, and the dentist informed me that she has a deep cavity that will require a silver crown. They recommended using oral sedation for the procedure. I’m feeling very anxious about the idea of sedation at her age. They also mentioned that I would not be allowed to stay in the room during the procedure, only while she is waiting for the medication to take effect. Is this standard practice? I would really appreciate hearing about others’ experiences.
