I’m currently researching the practical admin families have to deal with after someone dies in the UK - things like banks, utilities, pensions, probate next steps, funeral paperwork, subscriptions, and coordinating relatives.
I’m not selling anything and I’m not asking anyone to share anything too personal. I’m just trying to understand what parts of the process were most confusing, time-consuming, or unsupported.
For anyone who has helped manage a loved one’s affairs: what was the hardest practical task, and what support do you wish had existed?
Using a throwaway account to avoid sharing personal information.
ETA: Thank you for all your responses - and I’m sorry for the administrative burden you all faced at such a difficult time. You’ve given me lots to think about - and useful points of discussion with my family!
