Hey there goans

I’m considering applying for Portuguese citizenship under the post-1961 route, most likely through an agency, and I’m trying to understand the current processing timelines.

I’ve come across mixed information online some sources suggest it can take a couple of years, while others mention significantly longer delays. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has applied recently or is currently in the process, especially through an agency.

  1. When did you apply?
  2. Which stage are you currently at?
  3. How long did each step take (document verification, approval, passport issuance, etc.)?
  4. Has using an agency made the process faster or smoother in your experience?
  5. Any real, recent insights would be extremely helpful in setting realistic expectations.

Thanks in advance!
