I'm a plant & flower merchandiser at a chain of supermarkets. I don't work for the store but manage my own departments in 4 local stores I've been servicing for 6 years. The past couple of months this guy who works in the back room has started greeting me and saying hi and bye to me every time I see him (1-3 times per week) and makes an effort to leave through my department. I'm 24, hes in his early 30s and i think he might be in some management position, and im almost positive hes single, just by his energy. I didn't really pay him any mind at first but he's started small talk and making me laugh every time he gets the chance. He's funny and always knows what to say and I see him looking at me from a distance every time he's around.
I went into his department (kind of on purpose) and said hi to him and told him I'm looking for a certain type of cart and he points me to a stack of them and says "I saved it for you" and I'm like pssshh nooo!! Because I don't work a specific schedule, he couldn't have known for sure I'd be around. And he said "yeah I did!" And I went to go get it and the cart was really messed up and i said "this one sucks!" And he laughs and said that's why I saved it for you!
I grab another and go back through his department and told him i had 5 huge pallets in my department, and he says "I saw that...you're gonna be a busy girl" and something about it made me flustered. Then I crashed my cart into one of his on accident and started scurrying away awkwardly and he says "you're off to a good start!"
I know the delivery of these can be lost in translation, but does it sound like he's trying to be cute or flirty/teasing me? I'm a decent looking girl and I get a lot of attention sometimes, but I think he's in a management position (not over me, but still.) and might just be a charismatic guy. Sometimes I can overthink or imagine a "tension" between me and others. Regardless, I'm feeling a lot.
