Right then. Here goes.
I am a 45 year old man from the UK and I have decided that making friends as an adult is so painfully awkward that the only logical response is to post about my personality on the internet like it's a car boot sale.
What you're getting:
A man who runs. Not fast. Not far. But with tremendous commitment to the belief that it's doing something
Gym regular. I have absolutely no idea what half the equipment does but I look confident near it
DIY dad who genuinely believes every job is "probably a two hour job." It is never a two hour job
Reader of books. Will recommend you something and then anxiously wait to hear what you thought like a golden retriever who's just dropped a ball at your feet
Professional TV show binger. I have opinions. Many opinions. Possibly too many
Gamer. Evenings only. The kids are in bed. This is my time now
What I'm actually like:
Pretty easy to talk to. Good listener. Will remember the thing you mentioned three weeks ago and ask how it went. Sends memes at appropriate intervals. Never leaves you on read. Makes tea without being asked (obviously — I'm British).
What I'm looking for:
Just someone to actually chat to. The kind of friendship where a conversation starts about a TV show and somehow ends up being really honest and a bit unexpected. No agenda. No weirdness. Just two people being humans at each other.
